Just realized I wasted $40 a month on a car wash subscription because I park under a tree

I paid for unlimited washes for 6 months before noticing the sap and bird droppings just come back the next morning, has anyone else fallen for one of these subscriptions?

Had a buddy sign up for one and his car got keyed in the parking lot the same week.

but look at the bigger picture - these memberships are basically a bet that the person running it is gonna stay on top of maintenance and not just pocket the cash. i've seen a few of these pop up around my neighborhood and the lots are fine for a month or two then the owner gets lazy and the cameras stop working or the gate breaks. a buddy of mine paid for a year upfront and then the company went under after 6 months, he never got a dime back. plus if your car does get damaged, good luck proving it happened in their lot unless you got footage from your own dashcam running 24/7. its just another subscription service where you're paying for promises not actual protection.

12 months at $40 a month is almost $500. That's a whole week of groceries or a really nice dinner out. I mean, the tree is gonna tree, that's kind of on you for not factoring in where you park. Seems like a lot of money to be upset about a little sap and bird poop.
