Please tell me I'm not the only one who just learned the 'freeze your grapes' trick

I was about to toss a whole bag of grapes that were going soft and mushy last Tuesday, then my neighbor yelled at me from her porch to just freeze them instead... and now I have cold snacks for days that don't go bad for months. Has anyone else tried this with other fruit or am I late to the party?

Five pounds of grapes in my freezer from last July say you're dead wrong, king.eric. Rinse them first and spread them on a cookie sheet for an hour before bagging them up, no clumping or slush layer happens. I eat them straight out of the bag as a cheap dessert alternative that lasts 6 months easy. Plus they're great for sangria without watering it down like ice cubes do. The texture ends up like a grape sorbet if you let them thaw for 2 minutes on the counter.

Wait do they not get all weird and icy on the outside though? I tried freezing some grapes once and they ended up with this gross slushy layer that just tasted like watered down grape.

@valc91 is right... gotta dry em first or it's just sad grape slush.
