My first VR concert felt nothing like the early demo rooms I tried
I remember when VR demo rooms were basic and lonely. Now, at a VR concert, you're surrounded by people and lights. It's amazing how much has changed in just a few years.

I had that old Oculus Rift dev kit with the terrible screen door effect. Sure, the new stuff has more avatars and flashy effects, but you're still just staring at a screen strapped to your face. The social part feels like a glorified chat room with fancy hats. My ears hurt and my face gets sweaty after twenty minutes. It's a neat tech demo, but calling it a real concert feels like a huge stretch. The magic wears off once you remember you're just standing in your living room.

My friend lent me his Valve Index last month, and the forehead pain was real after thirty minutes. You hit the nail on the head about the social stuff feeling like a chat room with extra glitter. I remember taking off the headset and just seeing my boring apartment walls, totally killing the vibe. The tech has potential, but we're not there yet for it to feel truly real.

My buddy Jake tried a VR concert last year and said his forehead was red for like an hour afterward. He was super into it for the first few songs, yelling with a bunch of floating heads, but then said the whole thing just felt kind of lonely. I mean, he took the headset off to get a drink and was just back in his quiet kitchen, and he said he didn't even want to put it back on. It's that switch from the fake crowd to your empty room that kills it, idk.

What if the point is sharing a show with friends across the world instead of copying a real concert? It's still a unique way to connect, even with the headset lines on your face.
