Dropped $220 on a night vision camera to catch UFOs over my backyard, and I feel like a total sucker
So last spring I got really into the whole drone/UFO thing after seeing three lights move in a triangle formation over my neighborhood in Cincinnati. I figured if I was gonna take this seriously I needed gear, so I bought a cheap night vision cam for around $220. Let me tell you, the thing is basically useless for anything in the sky. Everything shows up as a blob, streetlights wash out half the frame, and my neighbor's security light makes it look like the sun came back at 2am. I set it up on a tripod for like two weeks straight and got nothing but raccoons and one confused cat. Meanwhile my phone in night mode actually caught something weird way better, a single light that changed direction mid flight, which a plane can't do. So here's my point, if you think aliens or drones are real, save your money and just use your phone, because that camera is the biggest $220 I ever lit on fire. Anyone else blow cash on gear for this hobby and end up feeling dumb about it?
