Had a lawnmower freak me out last Wednesday night and now I'm not sure what to think

I was mowing a client's back field near Huntsville around 8 PM and the engine just cut out completely while the headlights flickered in a weird pattern like morse code for no reason, has anyone else gotten creepy vibes from their equipment acting strange after dark?

Oh boy. Morse code headlights and a dead engine at 8PM in a field near Huntsville. That's not creepy, that's a horror movie cold open. Your mower didn't break down, it was trying to warn you about something it saw back there. Probably the same reason I don't mow past sunset unless I've got a six-pack of beer and a buddy with a shotgun riding shotgun. Next time just leave the grass tall and call it a night. Worst case the client gets a free lawn ornament for Halloween.

Read somewhere that foxes can mess with electronics by chewing on wires, which is just as creepy as ghost morse code.

Might be worth checking if any local ham radio operators were running tests that night, amateur radio bands can mess with mower electronics if they're close enough. Huntsville has a pretty active radio crowd so that could explain the flickering pattern you saw.
