That buried pipe thing is actually more common than people think. Some old farm drainage tiles or even gas line vents can make weird resonant sounds when the wind hits them just right. Might be worth checking if the pipe connects to anything deeper, like a cistern or an old well that could amplify the sound. Your mileage may vary but sometimes those low frequencies travel way further than you'd expect.

Had the same thing behind my shed last year. Drove me crazy until I found an old well cap.

Oh man, that reminds me of something kind of similar... @wyatt135 you just brought back a memory. My neighbor had this weird low hum coming from his property for months, and he was convinced it was some kind of underground bunker or something spooky... turned out to be a buried propane tank that had a loose valve making this crazy resonance when the wind blew just right. I was out there with him one night trying to figure it out, and I swear the sound felt like it was coming from everywhere at once. It's funny how once you track down the source, you start second-guessing every other weird noise you hear. Now whenever I hear a strange hum I'm like "well, that's probably just another pipe or something.
