I finally stopped buying those $40 alien detection apps

I spent about $120 on three different 'alien radar' apps over the last 6 months, thinking they'd pick up signals or something. They all just showed random static and GPS coordinates, which is basically what my free weather app does. What finally convinced me was watching a YouTube video where a guy ran the same app next to a microwave and it went crazy with 'anomalous readings'. Has anyone else wasted money on these scammy apps, or did you find one that actually works?

oh man, the microwave thing got me too! i had that same app and it went nuts next to my toaster oven... felt like such a fool.

Man @claire872 I cannot believe you had the same thing happen with a toaster oven, that's genuinely hilarious and sad at the same time. Ngl the microwave one got me good too though, felt like a total idiot.
