My buddy in Tucson said my 'lights in the sky' story was just a drone show
I told him about the three orange lights I saw over the desert last fall that moved in a tight triangle, and he pulled up a video of a drone light show from a festival. Now I check for local events before I get too excited. Has anyone else had a sighting that turned out to be something totally normal?

Some rich guy's toy" is the perfect way to put it. My big moment was a silent black triangle that turned out to be three kites with LED strips tied to them. A guy was flying them from a pickup truck bed in a Walmart parking lot. I stood there for twenty minutes feeling the wonder drain right out.

Man I got so pumped about a weird silent craft over the freeway last year, turned out to be a blimp with a sneaker ad on the side. Felt like a total goof. Now my rule is if it's not doing something impossible, it's probably just some rich guy's toy or a promo stunt. Takes the magic right out of it.
