Saw a weird light over I-80 near Laramie last month - thought I was losing it
I was driving my rig through Wyoming around 3am on a Tuesday, about 30 miles east of Laramie, when this greenish light just hovered above the highway for a solid 10 seconds. It wasn't a drone or another truck's lights cause it was dead silent and then shot straight up into the clouds. No idea what it was, but I called my buddy who hauls out of Cheyenne and he said he's seen the same thing twice near that spot. Anyone else run into something like that on the interstate?

Nah man, you probably just caught a weather balloon or some military exercise they're running out of FE Warren. Those green lights are usually sodium vapor from construction sites reflecting off low clouds, not aliens. I've driven that stretch a dozen times and never seen anything weird, and my uncle was a pilot for 30 years - he says 90% of UFO reports are just planes landing at small airports people don't know about. Plus look at the timing, 3am is when your eyes start playing tricks after hours on the road, especially with all that nothing but prairie to stare at.

Oh man, "your eyes start playing tricks after hours on the road"... yeah, that's what they all say until something zips past your windshield and leaves you questioning your whole life. I guess 3am Wyoming delirium turns a weather balloon into a green silent torpedo that defies gravity. And sure, it's probably just a really ambitious sodium vapor lamp that somehow broke the sound barrier on its way up. My buddy who drives flatbed says the same thing - pilots always have an explanation for everything they can't explain. But hey, keep telling yourself it's just another landing plane at an airport that doesn't exist for 80 miles in any direction.

Did you try recording it with your phone? That's what I did when I saw something similar near Rawlins.
