Showerthought: I had to choose between filming a weird light in the sky or grabbing my dog before he ran into traffic.
I picked the dog, obviously, and by the time I looked up the light was gone, so now I just have a story about almost losing my beagle, Bruno, in Phoenix instead of proof.

Glad you grabbed Bruno. Gray_morgan has a point, but you still got the better story. Proof is overrated compared to a safe dog.

Good choice. It's funny how often the right thing to do means missing out on the story you could have told.

Yeah, that's how it always goes, right? The real stuff happens when you're busy doing what you need to do, not when you're trying to record it. I've missed so many weird little moments because I was focused on something more important, and the story you're left with is always about the choice you made, not the thing you missed. It's kind of nice in a way, proof that you were actually living your life instead of just watching it.

Proof is overrated compared to a safe dog" - that's a wild take. I get the sentiment but hard disagree that proof doesn't matter when you're talking about something that could have gone really bad. Missing a story is one thing, but acting like having evidence of what happened isn't important feels like a fast way to get yourself in trouble.
