Was hiking near Sedona last month and saw three orange lights in a perfect triangle. No sound. They just vanished.

What time of night was it, and how big did the triangle look from your spot? Sedona's got a lot of weird air traffic and military testing, but the silent part is what gets me.

Around 2 AM maybe? Looked like a dinner plate held at arm's length.

Reminds me of camping near Tonopah years back. Saw a silent, slow moving cluster of red lights that just didn't fit any plane I know. It's that total quiet, like @jamief67 said, that makes your skin crawl. Felt like watching something heavy just glide, no engine sound at all. We just stared at it until it went behind the hills. Never did find a good answer for what it was.
