Binged a 2003 mecha show for the plot, stayed for the 12 minute recap episodes
I started Gasaraki last Tuesday expecting slow political drama, but those half-episode recaps actually made me understand the conspiracy better than the main story, anyone else find recap episodes more useful than the actual anime sometimes?

Man, that hits home. Been in the same boat with a few older shows where the back half got so tangled that the "previously on" segments were the only thing keeping me grounded. Really feels like the writers knew they lost the plot and the recap was their way of saying sorry. Glad it wasn't just me who found sense in those 12 minutes.
