Can we talk about how I used to watch anime vs how I watch it now
Honestly I used to crush full seasons in like 2 days, 12 episodes back to back, no breaks. Now I watch maybe 2 episodes a night on my couch in Austin and actually sit with them, which started when I realized I forgot almost every plot point of shows I binged in 2021. The slower pace means I catch way more foreshadowing and small character stuff I used to miss completely. Anyone else switch to weekly or slow watching, and did it ruin or save the hobby for you?
My buddy in Dallas did this exact thing. He binged all of One Piece in like four months, then could not tell me a single thing about the Sky Island arc when I asked him about it. He switched to three episodes a week after that and now he texts me these long theories about stuff he totally missed the first time. Slower watching saved it for him, not ruined it, mostly because he actually remembers what happens now.
