Friend told me I was watching anime wrong and it actually helped

I always skipped intros and endings to get through episodes faster, but my buddy pointed out I was missing key story beats and character songs that matter later. He showed me how the second opening of Attack on Titan actually spoils some stuff if you pay attention, and now I watch everything start to finish. Has anyone else had someone call out a bad habit that made your show better?

Thats a solid point about the openings hiding clues. Studios put real thought into them, not just random hype footage. My buddy caught me skipping the Fate/Zero intro and showed me how the visual storytelling there actually mirrors the whole show's theme.

Oh yeah, totally. It's like how people skip the first chapter of a book and then miss the whole setup. I feel like that happens everywhere, even with something simple like the instructions for a new phone or game. You skip the basics and then wonder why nothing makes sense later, you know?

@emery290 nailed it - reading the manual first saves you so much headache later.
