Had to pick between subbing and dubbing for my first Ghibli marathon...

I finally sat down to watch all of Studio Ghibli's movies last month. I kept going back and forth on whether to watch the English dub or the original Japanese with subtitles. I went with the dub because I was cooking dinner at the same time and couldn't stare at the screen. Big mistake honestly... the voice acting felt flat in Princess Mononoke and it took me right out of the story. Has anyone else regretted their pick after committing to a whole series?

Man, trying to fold laundry during The Matrix is the perfect comparison haha. Probably not the best movie to half-watch while multitasking, that's for sure. Hope you at least saved the bacon... or whatever you were cooking. Princess Mononoke is way too dense to catch all the nature versus industry stuff while chopping onions. At least you learned your lesson, the hard way but still.

Dubs during cooking is a bold move, hope you didn't burn dinner too.

Wait, you were actually cooking dinner while trying to watch Princess Mononoke? That's wild. That movie has so much going on visually and the dialogue is packed with meaning. I get trying to multitask but that's like trying to fold laundry during The Matrix. I'd rather just pause the movie and eat cold cereal than miss half the details.
