Hot take: I don't think the new ending for that big shonen anime was that bad
I was at the local comic shop in Austin last month and this guy saw my shirt for the show. He got real mad and said, 'They ruined ten years of story in five minutes, it's total garbage.' But I watched it twice, and the main character's choice to give up his power actually made sense to me. It was about letting go, not winning. Has anyone else felt like the hate for it is a bit over the top?

Yeah, that guy at the shop sounds intense! When you say the choice was about letting go, do you mean it was set up earlier in the story and people just missed it?

Exactly, the whole arc was building to that moment of him choosing peace over the fight. Maybe people just wanted a bigger final battle?
