I was sure the 'One Piece is too long' argument was just an excuse, then I tried to watch it.

For years, I dismissed people who said they wouldn't start One Piece because of its 1000+ episode count. I thought they were just being lazy. Last month, I decided to finally watch it myself to prove a point. After getting through the first 50 episodes in Alabasta, I have to admit, the sheer scale is a real barrier to entry for a normal viewing schedule. Has anyone found a good filler guide or essential arc list that actually makes it manageable?

Actually, Alabasta is way after episode 50. That's more like the East Blue stuff. The episode count is still huge, but getting the arcs right helps. Did you use a guide that mixed up the order?

Man, you're preaching to the choir here. I tried the same thing and hit a wall around the same spot. There's a site called One Pace that edits out filler and padding, it really helps. Makes the whole thing way less of a time commitment.

I get the time saving thing, but cutting out the filler changes the feel for me. Some of those slower moments build up the world and the side characters. It starts to feel like just rushing from plot point to plot point.
