Just hit 500 episodes of One Piece and my brain broke

I was watching the Dressrosa arc last night and the episode counter hit 500. That's like 16 full days of my life. I started this show in high school and I'm almost 30 now. It hit me that I've been following these pirates longer than some real jobs. Anyone else get that weird feeling when you see a number that big?

Remember that old forum post about someone's MySpace top 8 still being pirates? That's the same energy. You just realize how long a story has been part of your background noise. It's a weird kind of time capsule.

Yeah, that "background noise" line really got me. I started One Piece during college exams, and now I watch it with my kid sometimes. It's wild how these stories just weave into your life without you even noticing.

@hollywhite is right about it being background noise. These long shows become markers for whole chapters of your life. You don't just remember the plot, you remember where you were when you watched it.
