Just learned that the original Sailor Moon anime had over 200 episodes, but the first English dub only adapted 82. Found that out on a wiki rabbit hole last night.

That wiki rabbit hole is a real thing. I fell down one last year about old Sega CD games. For stuff like this, I just make a note in my phone's memo app. It's not fancy, but it keeps all those weird facts in one place so I can actually find them later.

Ugh, my notes app is a total mess though. I end up with random lists everywhere and can never find what I need. I've started using little sticky notes on my desk for stuff like that.

Is it just me or is that kind of a pattern with a lot of old anime dubs? They'd start translating and then either run out of money or time and just stop. I've noticed the same thing with a bunch of 80s and 90s shows where the English version is like half the Japanese run. It's like how local news will cover a big story for a week then just drop it completely. There's this whole hidden layer of media that just got abandoned partway through. Makes you wonder what else we missed out on back then.
