Just realized I was wrong about 12-episode anime being too short
I used to skip anything under 24 episodes, figured there was no way to build a proper story in just 12. Last week I binge-watched a 12-episode series called Odd Taxi and it blew my mind how much they packed into each 20-minute slot. Every scene mattered, no filler arcs, and the mystery actually wrapped up clean by episode 12. It made me go back and try other short series, and now I've watched 4 more in the past week alone. How do you all decide if a short anime is worth your time before you press play?
Wait, what made you actually hit play on Odd Taxi in the first place? I mean, most people avoid short shows out of habit, so something specific had to break that for you. Was it a friend pushing it, or did you just get bored and scroll past it one night? Because for me, the risk is always that a 12-episode show will either rush its ending or leave too much open, and I hate feeling like I wasted an evening on that. I think it helps to check if the studio or writer has a good track record, but even that can backfire sometimes. So what was the tipping point for you, the thing that made you trust it?
