Just realized my old way of watching seasonal anime was a total mess
For years, I would just watch whatever new show had the coolest poster on Crunchyroll, bouncing between 15 different series a week. I never finished anything and my watch list was a joke. That changed about six months ago after I tried to talk about 'Frieren' with a friend and I had only seen the first three episodes from three months prior. I felt so out of the loop. Now, I pick three shows max per season and stick with them, using a simple spreadsheet to track my progress. It sounds silly, but it made me actually enjoy the stories instead of just keeping up. Has anyone else had to totally change how they handle the seasonal anime flood?

See, I'm the total opposite. That chaos was half the fun for me. I would rather sample a little bit of everything and drop what doesn't grab me, even if it means I finish less. Sticking to a strict list of three feels like homework. My way, I never miss a weird show that turns out amazing just because its poster was bad. The mess WAS the system.

Totally get that, but the chaos just burned me out. I'd end up with ten shows on episode two and nothing to actually watch. Picking three forces me to actually give stuff a chance instead of just grazing. Found my favorite show last year that way, stuck with it past a slow start.

How do you even pick just three shows though? I had to start reading the plot summaries first instead of just going by the art.
