Have you seen how fans will start wars over the smallest stuff? People actually get mad if a movie changes a character's hair color from the comics. Or they'll spend days arguing about which sports team has a better mascot. It's like we're all just looking for reasons to be upset. You could post a picture of a cloud and someone would fight about what shape it is. No surprise every fandom feels like a minefield now.

Ever agree with @alice_bailey62 that fan fights are overblown? I used to, but then I saw a debate over a cartoon character's shoe color turn into real life threats. People were doxxing each other over something that didn't matter. It was scary how fast it escalated from typing to real harm.

The "minefield" idea is a bit much. Most of that drama is just people typing angry words.
