My friend's take on spoiler culture in anime forums really got me thinking

He said 'spoiling the journey is worse than spoiling the ending' after I casually mentioned a plot twist from Jujutsu Kaisen. Has anyone else had a conversation that made you change how you post here?

Wait, your friend is totally right though. I read a post once that said spoiling a character's big choice or change ruins the whole point of watching them get there. It's like someone telling you the punchline before the joke's setup. That really stuck with me. Now I'm way more careful about what I say, even if it doesn't seem like a huge plot twist. The middle of the story matters just as much as the end.

Totally! It's like ruining the whole journey just to brag about knowing the destination. I've started treating even small character moments like spoilers now.

Yeah, had a similar talk about spoiling character growth.
