Rewatching Cowboy Bebop after 20 years hits different than I expected
Last week I dug out my old DVD box set from 2003 and watched the first 5 episodes, and it struck me how much more I noticed the jazz soundtrack and slow pacing now compared to when I was 22 and just wanted action scenes - has anyone else gone back to an old favorite and found it felt like a completely different show?

Right off the bat that slow burn style hits way different now. When I was younger I just wanted Spike to shoot stuff and move on, but now I actually listen to the dialogue and notice the empty space between their words. There's this whole layer of sadness and regret I completely missed back then. The jazz makes a lot more sense now too, it's not just background noise anymore it's telling the story of the episode.

I mean rewatching old stuff is like realizing you grew up more than you thought, idk.

Wait, @drewr15... the SPACE between their words? I never even noticed that was a thing you could pay attention to in a show, that's wild.
