Rant: The new city code in Springfield about stump grinding is killing my schedule

Last week, a client's job got held up for three days waiting on a permit that used to take an hour. I mean, three years ago we could just get a verbal okay from the inspector and keep moving, but now it's all online forms and waiting. Anyone else dealing with this new red tape?

Man, that sounds exactly like our mess last month. Got a guy on the city's permit desk speed dial now. The trick is to submit the online form first thing Monday morning, like 8 AM sharp. They seem to process those in the order they come in, so you beat the afternoon rush. Still adds a day, but it's better than three.
