Shoutout to the crew that helped me with a massive storm cleanup in Tampa last Friday
We had 17 trees down across three blocks, but using a new rigging technique from a workshop cut our time in half. Anyone else find a better way to handle big storm damage lately?

Wow, I used to think those workshops were a waste of time.

I read an article last week about a study on workplace training. They found people who took basic software workshops were 30% faster at solving common problems a year later. It's the boring, simple stuff that sticks with you. I used to skip those sessions too, figuring I could just look it up if I needed it. But having that basic knowledge already in your head changes how you approach tasks. It's like building a foundation you don't even see until you need it.

Yeah, it's funny how the stuff we think is boring ends up being the most useful... I see that with my kids learning basic life skills too.

Got a buddy who used to run a tree service down in Sarasota, he learned the hard way about rope angles after a crane cable snapped on him... he said it was like watching a slow motion disaster. Now he swears by this old arborist trick where you set a double block and tackle on the main trunk before you even think about cutting. He claims it's saved him from three close calls just this year... I still think it sounds sketchy but he's still got all his fingers so there's that. Funny how a single workshop can stick with you like that, same way my dad's old lesson about sanding between paint coats always saves me time in the long run.
