The 30 foot maple I trimmed in August looks completely different now

I took down some big dead limbs on a silver maple behind a house in Akron back in August, and today I drove past it. The owner never called me back for the follow up prune, so now the tree has this weird unbalanced crown where the new growth is all bunched on one side. Has anyone else had clients skip the second visit and then blame you for how lopsided the tree got?

That "weird unbalanced crown" part hit me right in the gut. I've been there more times than I can count, and it's such a raw deal when they skip the follow up and then act surprised later. The thing is, a tree doesn't just fix itself after you take off big dead wood, it needs that second pass to balance the new growth and shape it right. And honestly, part of me wonders if they even remember you told them about the next step, or if they just see a lopsided tree and assume you did a half job. It's frustrating because you did the right thing by telling them upfront, but some folks just don't get that tree care is a two part deal, not a one and done. I feel for you on this one, man.
