Tried a Silky saw vs a Corona saw on a big oak removal in Austin and it wasn't even close

Got a call last week to take down a 60 foot live oak that had that oak wilt starting. Brought my usual Corona saw for the limbing work but the homeowner handed me his Silky Zubat to try on a 8 inch branch. That thing cut through like butter compared to my Corona. I mean the Corona does fine for smaller stuff but on anything over 4 inches the Silky made me look like I knew what I was doing. Has anyone else switched to a different brand after trying one out on a job?

Isn't that how it always goes... one good tool makes you rethink everything you own.

Isn't that the truth though? You use a tool for years thinking it's fine, then one afternoon you grab something else and it's like a whole different job. That Zubat has that impulse hardened teeth that just keep cutting without binding up, and once you feel that difference on a 5 inch limb, it's hard to unfeel it. Before you know it you're looking at your whole tool bag different, wondering what else you've been settling for.
