Figured the 3/8 impact would be enough, then a rusty 2004 F-150 proved me wrong
I used to grab my 3/8 cordless impact for almost every lug nut, figured the smaller gun was easier to handle and swapped it in for years. Then a 2004 F-150 rolled into the shop in Fresno with lugs that hadn't been touched in who knows how long, and the 3/8 just sat there hammering. Switched to the 1/2 inch with a 30 inch breaker bar as backup and those nuts spun off in seconds. Now I keep the big gun on the cart and only reach for the little one on smaller stuff. What torque are you guys actually setting yours to when you put wheels back on?
