Swapped out my old impact gun for a cordless one and it took me 30 minutes to trust it on lug nuts

I used to swear by my old air impact from 2004, the thing weighed like 15 pounds but it never stripped a bolt. Last month I finally gave in and bought a new Milwaukee cordless because my compressor was acting up again. First time I used it on a customer's 2018 F-150 in the shop, I checked every lug nut with a torque wrench after because I didn't believe it was tight enough. Has anyone else had that learning curve where you just don't trust the new tools right away?

Take this with a grain of salt, but to me it sounds like you're overthinking it a bit. Cordless impacts have been solid for the last few years, I've seen guys at truck stops use them on semi wheels without a second thought. Your mileage may vary of course, but maybe try it on some scrap metal first to build that trust before going straight to a customer's truck. Thirty minutes seems like a lot of hand wringing for something that's basically a proven tool now.
