That shaky return job made me change how I seat wheel bolts
I rushed through a tire change last week and just blasted the lug nuts on with the gun. The car came back with a horrible wobble... turns out I cross-threaded one and it was about to fall off. Now I always thread each bolt by hand before I even touch the impact. It adds a minute to the job, but I sleep better knowing it's done right. My comeback rate for wheel issues has dropped to zero. The other techs say I'm wasting time, but I think it's worth it. Do you have any similar habits that prevent stupid mistakes? I'm looking for more little checks to build into my routine.
Oh I'm totally the queen of paranoid double checks! I will literally walk back to my front door three times to make sure I locked it. My neighbors must think I'm nuts, but hey, I've never been robbed!
