The tire shop on 82nd showed me my torque wrench was worn out
I was in Portland last month getting new tires put on my F-150 and the tech there had me watch as he torqued the lugs. He said my pattern felt off before he even looked at my gear... turns out my old beam style wrench was drifting after 12 years of daily use. He let me borrow his digital one and the difference was night and day, about 18 foot pounds off on the low side. I never would've caught it because it clicked fine on my bench test at home. Has anyone else had a shop catch a worn calibration issue that you'd been trusting for ages?

Did he say if the beam was bent or if it was just the spring that gave out? Curious how a wrench drifts that far without ever feeling different in your hand.
