Tried dielectric grease on battery terminals, 2 years later no corrosion at all

Seen guys argue about this stuff forever. My truck battery always got that crusty green mess every 6 months. So I cleaned it real good, slathered dielectric grease on both posts before connecting cables. Checked it today after 2 years of NY winters. Clean as a whistle. No weird resistance or starting issues either. Anyone else use this trick long term or am I just lucky?

Oh man, I used to be one of those guys rolling my eyes at dielectric grease. Thought it was snake oil or whatever. But I tried it on my boat trailer last year and yeah... I gotta eat crow on this one. Stuff works way better than I expected.

Yeah that stuff is no joke. I've been using it on my truck's trailer harness for a few years now and the difference is night and day. No more chasing down intermittent brake light issues after a trip through a puddle. Just make sure you wipe off any excess, too much can actually trap dirt and cause problems down the line.
