Watched a 2018 F-150 go from 14 mpg to 19 after a full intake cleaning and new plugs.

The owner said it felt sluggish for months. I'm convinced modern trucks are way more sensitive to basic maintenance than people think. Agree or am I just seeing a fluke?

That's a solid jump, but the mpg gain is the real story.

Honestly, could it just be the computer resetting after the work and not the parts? I mean, those mpg numbers on the dash are just a guess and they change a lot. Maybe it was a fluke reading or he drives different now. It feels like people see a big fix and then talk themselves into seeing a huge change.

Was it just a carbon buildup issue, or did the old plugs show a specific problem like a wide gap?
