Just realized I paid $500 for a CRM tool I never used

I bought this fancy sales pipeline software back in March thinking it would fix our lead tracking. Turns out our team just stuck with Google Sheets because it was easier. It auto-renewed for another $200 last month before I noticed. Anyone else have a subscription that slipped through the cracks like this?

@pat_stone makes a good point about the ADHD thing, but honestly I think this is just a sign of how bad most of us are at keeping track of the small stuff. Got a gym membership I forgot about for eight months once, paid $80 a month for nothing. The real pattern I notice is how companies count on people being too busy to check their bank statements. They set up these auto-renewals way before the trial ends so you forget the original date entirely. If I had a nickel for every time I found something charging me months after I stopped using it, I'd probably break even on the lost money. What worked for me was actually turning off all auto-renewal as a default and only turning it back on for things I really needed.

Calendar alerts saved me from the same mistake.

Tbh I just read something about how people with ADHD tend to do this a lot with subscriptions, and @blake792's calendar alert idea is actually pretty smart for catching auto-renewals.
