PSA: A client said our 7-day free trial was 'too much work' to even start
They told me 'asking for a credit card upfront feels like a commitment, not a test drive.' I switched to a 14-day trial with NO card required, and sign-ups doubled. Anyone else get pushback on trial friction?

We added a quick survey after signup asking what they hoped to do with the tool. It cut down on the junk and helped us spot the real users fast.

Hold up, doubling sign-ups sounds great but what about the quality? We tried a no-card trial once and got flooded with fake accounts and people who just wanted a one-time thing. Our real problem became sorting the serious users from the tire-kickers, which wasted a ton of support time. Isn't a credit card a basic filter for people who are actually interested?
