Rant: I was dead wrong about that sales automation tool my coworker swore by
For 6 months I told our ops team the $200/month outreach tool we tested was just hype and refused to touch it. Then last week I ran a side-by-side comparison of our manual follow-up process against the automated one for 50 leads each. The automated side closed 12 deals while my manual side only got 3 - has anyone else had a tool totally flip their opinion like that?

Close 12 deals vs 3" - wait, that's a FOUR TO ONE ratio? I mean, that's not even close, that's like a total beatdown. I would've expected maybe 7 to 5 or something, but 12 to 3 is wild. I gotta ask though, did you keep using the tool after that or did the $200/month make you think twice?

Man, you just described my entire sales career in one post. I was that guy who swore our old email blasts were better than any CRM until I actually ran a test and felt like a clown when the numbers came in. My ego took a hit, but my wallet ended up happier. Its funny how a tool you hate can turn into your best friend when the data smacks you in the face. Did you keep the tool after that test or was the price too much to swallow?

Yeah but is it really that serious though? Like yeah the data showed a bump but sometimes that's just a short term boost from people paying attention to something new. I've seen plenty of tools make a big splash in month one and then flatline after the novelty wore off.
