Spent $800 on a fancy data connector that just broke our syncs

We bought a premium tool to link our CRM with the billing platform, thinking it would save time. It ended up corrupting our customer data for a week before we switched back to the basic API. Anyone else have a connector horror story?

Ever see a connector just delete stuff? My buddy's team had one that started wiping invoice line items. They lost a whole quarter of detailed billing data. Had to rebuild it from email backups.

Honestly that sounds like a nightmare. We had a sync tool go rogue and clear out customer addresses once. Took us a week to piece everything back together from old spreadsheets. Now we run every connector change in a test environment first, and we do a full backup right before any sync job. It's extra work but way better than losing real data.

Ugh, that's brutal. We had a "smart" connector that was supposed to update customer statuses. It ended up marking every single account as inactive overnight. The support ticket queue the next morning was a complete disaster.
