Update: our onboarding time went from 11 days to 3 after we moved one thing, but now I'm not sure we should have
Six months ago our average time to get a new client fully live was 11 business days, and as of last month it's down to 3. The only real change was letting our ops team trigger the data import without waiting on a sales handoff call first. So now deals close and the clock starts that same afternoon instead of sitting in a queue for 4 or 5 days. Half my team says this is the best thing we ever did, the other half says we're now committing to setups before we even know if the client's data is clean. Last week we onboarded a 200 seat account in 3 days and then spent the next 9 cleaning up their fields. Is faster always better in ops, or did we just move the pain downstream and call it a win?
