A judge at the Smoke on the Square contest in Abilene told me my ribs were "confusing," and he was right
I'd been glazing with honey and hot sauce at the same time for like 2 years, thinking I was some kind of genius. He said "pick a lane, sweet or spicy, because right now I can't tell what you're going for." Next contest I dropped the honey and went straight spicy, and my rib score jumped from 7th place to 2nd out of 31 teams. Any of you ever get a judge comment that stung but actually fixed your whole game?
