Bought a $300 'smart' thermometer that kept telling me my brisket was a live chicken

It kept sending alerts to my phone about 'poultry reaching safe temp' while my actual meat was stone cold. Anyone else have tech that just makes up its own dinner plans?

Remember my buddy trying to use a smart scale for baking. It kept reading his bag of flour as a small dog and giving him pet health tips. He had to unplug it and dig out his old measuring cups halfway through the recipe.

That's hilarious, @nancyjones... guess the scale really wanted him to walk the flour bag. Modern tech can be a bit too smart for its own good sometimes.

Honestly it's wild that these things can't tell flour from a pet but they'll track every calorie you eat.

@jakewhite does the sensor really think flour has the same weight as a dog or is it a pattern recognition fail?
