Showerthought: I wasted $80 on a 'competition-grade' rib rub that tasted like salty sawdust

Honestly, after three cooks, I just threw the whole container out and went back to my simple salt, pepper, and garlic mix, so has anyone else had a total fail with a fancy rub they were hyped for?
