Finally tried that Park Tool truing stand I was skeptical about

Been using zip ties on the frame for years. Picked up a used TS-2 for $60 last month. First wheel I trued on it cut my time by half compared to the zip tie method. Anyone else put off buying proper tools for way too long?

Has anyone else spent years making things harder just to avoid spending a few bucks? I was the same way with my bike stand - used a bungee cord and a tree branch for way too long. Then I grabbed a used TS-2 like you and honestly felt stupid for not doing it sooner. First time I used it I got that wheel true in under 10 minutes and the spoke tension was way more even than what I was doing with the zip ties. It's one of those tools that just makes you wonder why you kept fighting with the janky method.
