Had a guy at a shop in Denver show me a trick with old chain lube

I was in a co-op in Denver last month helping fix up a rental fleet, and this old mechanic pulls out a half-empty bottle of Tri-Flow and says 'stop throwing this away, it's gold for seized pedals.' He just dripped it on a stuck pedal spindle, waited 10 minutes, and it came right out with a hex key. Has anyone else found a weird second use for old lubricants?

Close, but it's not really a weird second use - that's literally what penetrating oil is for. Tri-Flow works better than WD-40 on stuck stuff because it actually has lubricant in it.

Has anyone actually tried Kroil yet?

Tried Kroil on a seized bolt from a 2002 Civic, and it took about an hour to finally break free. The stuff seeps into cracks way better than PB Blaster in my experience, but it still needed heat and a breaker bar. Bottom line, it's good but not magic for really stuck stuff.
