Set up a magnetic strip above my workbench for bike tools, no more lost allen wrenches

Tried that exact same thing with my socket wrenches last year. Bought a heavy duty magnetic bar hoping to get all my metric sockets in one spot. Turns out half my cheaper sockets are that aluminum mix stuff that magnets won't even grab. Had this sad little line of just the three good sockets sitting there while the rest stayed in a messy pile. Your idea probably works way better for solid steel allen keys. Might have to steal it for my screwdriver collection.

But wait, those aluminum sockets can still stick if you try something easy. I used strong glue and little metal pieces to make mine magnetic.

Always seems like half the things I own need a workaround.

My old socket set was all aluminum mix junk that wouldn't stick to magnets. Honestly I thought it was fine and just how tools were. Then my brother got me a full steel set for my birthday last year. Tbh it completely changed how fast I can work. Now I get why people pay more for the good stuff, because nothing needs a workaround. It just works.
