Unpopular opinion: I started using a bit of grease on pedal threads even when they say not to
Had a customer bring in a seized set of alloy pedals on a steel crank, said they were installed dry at the factory. I put a tiny smear of anti-seize on the new ones, just a dab, and told him to check them in a month. He came back and said they came out smooth as butter. Anyone else do this against the official advice?

Honestly, reminds me of a guy who never greased his seatpost. Took us an hour to cut that thing out.

My old shop had a special saw blade just for seized alloy posts, used it maybe twice a year.

A mechanic told me the "no grease" rule is just for lawyers.

Read somewhere it's actually about preventing galvanic corrosion, same thing @robertcarr probably saw.
