Update: spent 5 hours chasing a ghost shifting issue on a customer's gravel rig, turned out to be a bent derailleur hanger I checked twice

The alignment gauge read fine both times, but when I finally swapped in a spare hanger the indexing snapped back to perfect, so has anyone else had one that looked straight on the tool but was twisted just enough to throw everything off?
