A pharmacist in Cleveland told me to stop buying the store brand statin and I did not expect that
I was picking up my atorvastatin at a CVS in Cleveland and the pharmacist pulled me aside and said my $10 store brand and the $47 name brand had the same active ingredient but different filler, and that the filler was probably why I kept getting muscle aches. I switched back to the name brand two months ago and the aches are mostly gone, which bugs me because now I'm paying $37 more a month for a pill. I'm not saying the cheap one is fake, I'm saying nobody ever told me the filler mattered and now I wonder what else gets glossed over. Has anyone else had a doctor or pharmacist tell them to change the brand over the filler?
