CVS charged me $284 for a 30 day inhaler script that Costco fills for $47
My son's albuterol refill hit the counter at the CVS on Maple last Tuesday and the girl told me $284 without even blinking. I paid it because he needed it that night, but something felt off so I called around the next morning. Costco quoted me $47 for the exact same inhaler, same dose, same manufacturer, and they didn't even need a membership to use the pharmacy. I went back to CVS with the printout and the tech just shrugged and said prices vary by location, like that explains a $237 gap on a drug that's been around since the 80s. So now I'm driving 20 minutes out of my way every month and I'm still mad about the $284 I'll never see again. Does anyone know if those discount cards actually work or is that just another layer of the same game?
