Generic brand pills vs name brand, same pharmacist told me to switch
My blood pressure med was running $45 a month with insurance for the name brand. The pharmacist said the generic uses the same active ingredient, just different filler. I switched 6 months ago and my readings are identical, plus it costs $8. Anyone else find generics work just as well for other meds?
Wait, were you checking your BP the exact same time of day and everything? I mean, it's good it worked for you, but generics can have slightly different fillers that change how your body absorbs the drug for some people. I had a friend where the generic thyroid med messed with her levels, so she had to go back to the name brand. idk, maybe it's just about finding what works for your body specifically, even if the ingredient is the same.
